Ruzyne is the Prague International Airport (airport code PRG), and it's the biggest airport in the Czech Republic and in Central and Eastern Europe, connecting 103 destinations around the world. Aairport’s info line is +420 220113314.
Ruzyne is situated about 20 km north from the city. The journey between the two should take between 30 minutes and one hour, depending on the mode of transportation. City and transport maps are available at the airport's Tourist Information Centre.
Public transport is by far the cheapest way of getting to downtown Prague, but Taxis are avalible as well.
Bus
The airport staff will be happy to point you in the direction of the nearest bus stop. The buses in Prague leave about every half an hour between 5:30 a.m. and 9:30 p.m. They go to Namesti Republiky and a ticket costs about 90Kc.
The cheapest option of all is to catch the 119 bus from the airport terminal to Dejvicka subway station, from where you can go into the city centre (using line A), for only 75Kc.
Taxi
The quickest way to get to town is by taxi. Aavoid taxis without illuminated signs, agree a price before starting your journey, and ensure the meter is switched on . A taxi ride from the airport to the city centre should cost about 700Kc (that’s 33 dollars, 24.50 euroes or 16.50 pounds)
* Taxis: Watch out. It is advisable to book your transfers before you arrive. There are many unscrupulous taxi drivers around Prague, especially at the airport, charging extortionate fees. When around town always use a reputable taxi company. Your hotel will provide you with a few good companies and numbers.
