be transformed with stage designs, murals, props and thematic
art, making each room a unique experience. In addition to
2 floors dedicated to bands, 1 floor will feature a Ghoul
Disco with the best US and international DJ's. Vendors for
the event have already purchased all available venue spaces,
and NY Decay is seeking additional space to accommodate a
growing waiting list. There will also be a VIP signing party
for event patrons, as well as Saturday and Sunday daytime
activities: Monster Movie Matinee, fashion & burlesque shows,
and more. Pre and post shows for DD2 are happening at CBGB,
with their own exciting band and DJ lineups (www.nydecay.com).
From the NYC rockabilly subculture, to Deep South psychobilly,
to European deathrock fans, this is a cross-genre convocation,
welcomed here and abroad.
Media
attention and sponsorship continue to grow for this one-of-a-kind
event. Last year's one-day Drop Dead Festival and satellite
shows (NYC, Los Angeles, Boston, and Philadelphia) gained
press coverage with capacity crowds (CBGB) and captivating
lineups. NY Press, LA Weekly, and genre magazines like Starvox
, Meltdown, and Morbid Outlook featured the events. This year,
DD2 has already received national and international press
attention. Chosen as this year's festival pick, DD2 has received
pre-coverage by Gothic Beauty Magazine, Spooky Magazine, 1313
Magazine, Grave Concerns 'Zine, and Pity for Monsters 'Zine
(UK), as well as media interest including cable television's
Horror Channel. This growing interest has allowed NY Decay
to gain sponsorship for the event at NYC retail outlets Gothic
Renaissance, 8th Street Lab and Toy Tokyo, Zipperhead in Philadelphia,
and other retail, advertising and product sponsors. For all
