Drop
Dead Festival is a unique music festival in many
ways. It is the biggest and the foremost event among
the festivals spotlighting Horror Rock n Roll. Our
music has its roots in the 50's rockabilly, late
seventies punk rock, with infusion of eighties new
wave and Gothic rock and a large dose of performance
art. This vibrant music style has survived and evolved
in the past 25 years into a unique art form although
up to now lacking a larger festival to showcase
this diverse and innovative movement.
As
an international gathering our Bands, DJ's and attendees
come form all over the globe and our marketing strategy
reflects this demographic. The international community
feeling is what also makes Drop Dead Festival different
from other music festivals: it is a gathering of
musicians, DJs, vendors, industry members, and fans
who are all passionate and knowledgeable about the
Deathrock, Gothic Rock, Psychobilly and Punk Genre.
Our community members come from as far away as Japan,
Germany, Holland, and LA and as close as NYC.
In
this third year of the festival, attendance has
grown steadily, over 450% every year (2005- over
5,000 attendees expected), 2005 also saw a 75 %
increase in hits on the Drop Dead Festival web site.
We have been featured in National and International
Press like New Yorker, NY Press, LA times, Meltdown
Magazine (UK) and many others.
